Evaluation

In this assignment we were asked to created a stop motion video, also we had to research different videos to give us an idea of what we could do.
We were asked to create a blogger account were we were able to upload pieces of work, and research ideas that we had looked at. After we had done this we were asked to look at different stop motion videos on the internet, to give us a brief idea of what we could do, we had to then upload the ones we viewed and write about what we likes about it. We then went into the studio as a class and done a few stop motions to give us an idea of how to use all the equipment and to show us how to do the lighting in the studios in case we wanted to do our final stop motion in the studio. To do this we had to set the camera and lighting to how we wanted and then we set the background using cloths, then we got people to move slightly as we took a picture and so on. After we had shot these, we uploaded the images to the computers and put them onto I movie where we were able to change the speed that the images went at, and we could put our own music to it to make it more appealing. After this we then shot our own videos, i chose to do mine in the studio. I set the camera and lighting up, and then set the background to how i wanted it, and go some people out of my class to be in the shots to make my video work.
While shooting my images some how they were erased from the camera, so then i had dropped behind on my work, and it was quite difficult to catch up. This also meant that i had to re-shoot and therefore i had to take people away from doing their own work to help me complete mine. So if i have to do this assignment again i will back up my work so that it doesn't get lost.
In conclusion, during this assignment i learnt about time management, due to having to put all of my images together and changed the speed they went at. Also i learnt how to use a tripod, when shooting i used a tripod so that my camera didn't move and there wasn't camera shake when i had take the images. I also learnt research skills and how to comment on other peoples work, saying what i like and i think they could improve on being set this assignment again.

This video is my final 'Stop Motion Video'. This week i had to re-shoot my stop motion due to loosing my images last week. I done the same set out and i shot the images in the same place. However this was a dis-advantage because my fellow class mates had already shot there's and wanted to continue working on there own videos therefore they went out their way to help me create my final video.

In today's lesson a few of our class went into the studio to shoot our stop frame videos. We all helped set others backgrounds up, and we all took part. When i was shooting my video i set the back ground as a bed, i had a white sheet as the back ground, then a purple, read and orange clothes as pillows. and then a white fury blanket as the quilt. To make this work i was taking pictures as a few of my class mates were moving and rolling out of the scene. After everyone shooting there videos our images were downloaded onto the computer, but for some reason my images weren't there and had been deleted. So i have to shoot these images again next week, also i next time i will make sure that my images are not deleted and that they are still on the camera.

This video is one that we done in the studio last week, but i have now added a relevant song to make it more appealing to the viewer.

Today we went outside with the cameras and the tripods, to take images as if it was like we were recording. Each time we were about to take another image we had to move slightly to create this video look. In this video we chose to stand on some steps and kept changing who was at the front so it looked like we were walking down the stairs. We  done this until we got to the last step and then we had two people looking for the last person because she wasn't in the image, and then the person on her own was captured looking for the other two. When we got back to the class room we had to put the images together into a stop frame video and i also added my own pieces of music that i thought would related  to the video and to make it more interesting.

In todays lesson we went into the studio and were experimenting stop frame videos. We have done a few examples using objects, and people from the class. We all worked together and joined in to help make the videos. We made three different videos by using cloths and objects that were in the studio. A few of us took it in turns at taking the pictures while other people wee moving the objects around the floor. We used many different materials to make the background different and so that the colors resembled different objects, e.g blue for the sky/sea. This was our first time in the studio shooting a stop frame video therefore we only had a vague idea of what we were going to be doing. We set all of the lighting so that it wasn't too bright but you could see all of the effect.

For the first video Gorge was shot as he was swimming. As he was first we only had a vague idea that the material/objects were to be moved as well. We could have made this video better by adding more objects so that is wasn't just him in the photograph. This ment that other things were in the shots than just Gorge.

For the second video, we tried to expand on our ideas so we decided to imagine that we were at a skate park. We done this by using cloth materials as the background. We had a red material as the main background color but we also had purple in the background. We used a yellow/orange cloth as the ramp. Then dylan was moving to each picture being taken with his skate board going down the ramp slightly each time. At the end of the pictures being taken Dylan was acting as he fell off the skate board. To make this better we could of made more room for the images to be taken, also we could have made it better by having more things going on in the background.

For the final video, we expanded more because we had things moving in the background as well as Sammy walking with a suitcase in her hand. In the background the clouds and the sun were both moving slightly in each image capture. We had a blue cloth as the sky, grey cloth as the path she was walking on and then we had two white cloths as the clouds. Towards the end of taking pictures Sammy was told to pretend to drop the suitcase. To make this better we could have used different objects so it was easier to make around the floor.

To make sure that the studio was safe, when a person was standing on the ladders to take the pictures we had someone holding the ladders. We also had the people that went taking part sitting to the sides so that they didn't get in the way when we wee shooting.
